As of the new year, I am working under my original name, Sophie Weyeneth.
I previously used an alias while balancing my painting practice with running a luxury fashion alteration business. Returning to my real name reflects a deeper commitment to my work and a more authentic alignment with my practice.

Bio
Sophie Weyeneth came to painting later in life through art therapy, which grounded her practice in the emotional realm. French and Swiss, she studied art and fashion in Paris and developed her work through independent study, exhibitions and mentorship in London, where she lives.
Weyeneth creates abstract paintings guided entirely by intuition, working without visual support and looking inward to find forms while listening to what the paint calls for. There is no predefined direction the picture should take, allowing for creativity throughout the process. Engaged with queer and feminist concerns, Wyth’s abstract language is both welcoming and intricate.
Her work explores movement, impermanence, and the ever-changing nature of life, encouraging alternative ways of seeing. Through intuition-driven abstraction, she seeks to express emotion and to create moments of connection, harmony, and beauty as acts of sensitivity and care.
