As of the new year, I am working under my original name, Sophie Weyeneth.

I previously used an alias while balancing my painting practice with running a luxury fashion alteration business. Returning to my real name reflects a deeper commitment to my work and a more authentic alignment with my practice.

These three paintings were made together as a way of exploring both individuality and togetherness. The three works were initially treated as a single expanded surface, linked in their marking before each painting was given its own distinct presence. Together and apart, the paintings celebrate differences while highlighting the joy, strength, and closeness that come from forming connections, becoming intertwined, and building a life alongside one another.
